Monday's walleye action once again remained on the slow side to say the least, with the big mayfly hatch still going on along and the young of the year perch showing up in big numbers, it has been a tough go for a few days. Just like Sunday, my clients and I worked all different depths and structures looking for walleye and only came up with 2 good keepers and they came out of the shallow wood, almost every spot we tried we either caught smallies or pike. The fish we did get all came on Reeves weedless jigs tipped with crawlers, nothing on fatheads. Speaking about the young of the year perch, the smallies were in the shallows and were boiling the surface feeding on them, very interesting watching them, kind of got the feeling the eyes are all filled up with mayfly's and tiny perch, things should get back to somewhat normal when the hatch is over.
