As of Tuesday, there were 16 teams registered. The entry form says registration is March 1st through May 30th, but entries will be accepted until the morning of the event.

The adult member of the team is allowed to fish, (some people have asked.)

There are some pretty young anglers competing, and several parents have asked if they could come along as an extra safety factor. Tournament Director Lynn Hanisko has told them they are welcome to come along to help out, but only the original adult team member is allowed to fish.

As always, you can never have too many volunteers to help with an event like this. If you would like to volunteer a little of your time for the morning take-off or afternoon weigh-in, contact Lynn Hanisko @ (906) 553-2464 or lynnhanisko@yahoo.com

Chris just wanted to say thanks on the info on what to maybe expect when we come up to fish on the 19th. Hopefully we can still get a spinner/crawler bite up on the reefs for the girls. Also wanted to say that our AYA just got postponed from this Sunday to July 18th down here on the Illinois River. We've had some real nasty weather the last few days and the old river is going up to about 5 ft over flood stage!! We had 50 teams signed up. It's a great time and the kids just have ball. We're gonna stop in and get some bait from you when we get up there. And any tips you might wanna share. Thanks again Glenn D

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully things will be much better in July.

Good luck to all the young fishermen in todays tournament. The weigh-in starts after 3pm at the North Shore Boat launch. Stop by if you get a chance, and cheer them on.
