Cool nights and several much needed rainy days have dropped the surface temperatures on most Mercer area lakes into the mid 60's. The Muskies for the most part have remained a little on the shallow side with most fish in the 3'-8' range and still relating to the new weed growth. There has been some action in deeper water if you can locate schools of baitfish suspended off of steep drop offs but the deep water bite hasn't been as consistent. Fish in the shallows have been moving on bucktails, twitch baits, and slow moving topwater, surface baits have been working especially well just after the rain. The deep water fish have been moving on Bull dawgs and crankbaits. The best activity times have been right before and right after the rain showers. Good Luck!!
