Took an afternoon trip to Big Bay yesterday, going after some walleyes. The bass had other ideas. Ended up with a few eyes, but had non-stop action on smallies. I think we went on one stretch for about 2 hours where we never got all our lines in the water, had as many as 3 at a time on the lines. Fishing cranks up near the head of the eastside bay, 12-18' of water, they were everywhere up there. Most were small, 12" or so, but plenty larger than that, and we probably caught at least 6 in the 3-4# range, nothing bigger than that. Deep Little Rippers, Deep Juniors, Husky Jerks, Hot N Tots, Shad Raps, it really didn't make any difference, color all over the place, running them 6-12' down. Mayflies hatching over there.
