As the photos show, the lake hasn't risen, even with the 3+ in. rain we finally got last week. The sandbars are 50 ft. from last years shoreline. Atleast the fishing has been fantastic so far this season. One group here now, has not had 1 day without a boated musky. Total for the 5 days so far, 4 guys, 15 muskys, all in the 31" - 38" range. More silver than tigers, but who's complaining! Water temp has risen from 62* last Sat., to 67* today. Last week produced some rather nice 9"-13" quantities of perch. Crappies had a good year of spawning, however still seeing some 'gills & sunfish with spawn. Northern are anywhere you want to fish, shallow & deep. Plenty of 'eyes being found, but vast majority are running short of the mark. Bodes well for the future.
The weed growth that some are commenting on, is mostly due to the fact that there is almost 30" less water height, hence there is more light penetration in areas that previously had 2 1/2 feet more cover. Which is also a reminder that objects on the bottom are now 30" closer to ding a prop on.
Great to be in the Northwoods!
