Friday greeted my clients and I with very strong south winds and overcast sky's, not to mention very muddy water from Thursday nights winds. Trying some different water for a change of pace, (Townline & Horseshoe) we started out working shallow boulders in 4 feet of water with the wind pounding into them and came up with a blank. We then tried working the floating bog with zero results, tried two different cribs and zilch. Getting drastic, we then tried drifting the Townline Lake basin with bottom bouncers with in-line spinners tipped with minnows or half crawlers and still nothing. Getting close to the end of our half day trip, we headed to the south end of the big water and worked two different coontail/wood areas and came up with 3 nice eyes on Reeves weedless jigs tipped with fatheads. Same two spots that held no fish the past two days, go figure.
Back out today, will keep you posted.
