I just got back from a few days of camping and fishing the east side of the park. Thursday and Friday were really rough, just a few smallies and pike on worms, leaches and jigs. Saturday improved quite a bit and we found a few walleye on leaches working stumps in 5-7 feet of water.
This was my first trip up, I put in at Murray's landing and camped just east of Bonies Mounds. I'm impressed with the park. It's like a minnie Boundary Waters with motors and only 4 hours from home!
The campsite I stayed at was a little buggy but not terrible. Lot's of firewood and pretty quiet.
I can't wait to go back.
