With the recent rainfall, water levels have been above average levels. However only Squaw Bay is a no-wake zone.
Lake Mendota bluegill and perch have been slow up til now. Hopefully with some more stable weather, prolonged warmer temperatures, and a little luck perch will become more active. While some bites have been slow, reports of walleye action near the bars have been more numerous. Bass reports have been mixed, but some of the more active fish have been spotted in 18'-22' of water on the bars. Try the Burley and Second Point bars. Tenny Park anglers have been finding a mixed bag of bluegills, bass and occasional walleye.
Lake Monona bluegill fishing has been excellent, with active fish from the weedlines to 20'-22' of water. Some areas to try include out from Olbrich Park, Hudson Park, Wyldehaven, Slueter Beach and in fron the Rock Pile by Squaw Bay, as well as along Turvelle Point. Muskies have been active with some fish coming on top waters during the evening hours and cloudy days. Also try using bucktails along the deeper weed edges.
Mud Lake bluegills have been suspending in and around the dredge hole. Large mouth bass have also been active in the shallow water.
Lake Waubesa bluegill action has been a little more difficult, however some nice sized bluegills are still being pulled in at times.
Lake Kegonsa has seen some reports of nice sized bluegills and perch, but location information has been sparse.
