I just got back on Sunday from a week on the TFF and a week on the Rainbow. As usual it was a great trip but the SM Bass bite was "off" quite a bit unfortunately.
It is not uncommon for us to catch 80 to 100 per day with 4 people in the boat. This year we probably caught 100 for the week.
We heard at Donners that things were early up there this year with regards to ice-out, spawning and the mayfly hatch which we happened to be right in the middle of - in addition to the perch fry hatch. The water level was 3.5' down (very dangerous) and the water temp was in the high 60's which we could not believe for this time of year.
The fish were in a full summer pattern and I should have figured that out earlier.
With all that said - the Musky and Northern Pike bite was very good. We took some good size fish including a 45" 26 pound Musky on the Rainbow. Note the end of the dock and the low water level on the Rainbow!
