The past 2 days has seen mixed results. Doing a half day trip on Thursday, my client and I worked various shallow weeds, wood, and wind blown boulders with Reeves weedless jigs tipped with half crawler and boated a total of 3 eyes along with 4 smallies and a few good sized gills. Friday was somewhat tougher for my clients and I as we spent most of the morning hours working wind blown shorelines and humps and all we could find was 1 smallie and 1 small pike. We then switched over to drifting the shallow mud flats with in-line spinners with a fixed bobber and had some decent action. Tipped with a 2 inch piece of crawler, we let the strong SW winds do the work for us and we came up with 4 eyes, several small perch, 1 small pike, and last but not least, my client and good friend (Morph) caught a very heavy 40 inch musky on this small in-line spinner rig. That really made his day.
