Saturday greeted my clients and I with clear blue sky's along with a decent SW breeze and more mayfly's popping up here and there. Using Reeves weedless jigs tipped with half crawler, we started out working a couple of mid lake humps that produced nothing. We then worked some coontail patches and came up short once again. Our next move was to some wind blown jams and here we found 2 chunky eyes along with 2 perch and 2 gills. As the winds picked up with an approaching front, we tried a weedy bay and found one more nice eye along with a couple of smallies. Our next move was to anchor just off an underwater rocky ledge and here we found 1 big smallie. We then tried working yet another wind blown log jam with only a couple of pike to show for it. We then anchored just off a mid lake hump and found 6 real chunky eyes along with a few more smallies. Just a note, most all the fish we caught were coughing up mayfly's.
Back out next week, will keep you posted.
