Walleye Fishing remains very good and each day new schools of walleye are on the sceen. We have seen many pods of this years hatch on the surface feeding on small lake shiners, the sub surface is just covered with bait. We have trolled the last two weeks because when we try to catch walleyes casting worm harnesses the bite varies, if you get out real early your sucess is better, but the trolling day after day puts the most fish in the boat. We trolled last night off Niagara Reef and pulled 29 walleyes in a few hours, using 40 jets off the boards, the best spoon was purple demon and the best j-7 was perch and blue/silver back 75-90 feet. Reports of decent perch are being caught but most perch are in the 7-8 inch range. Perch fishing has been best at B can and Green Island fishing on the bottom with lake shiners and spreaders.
