Muskies: Storms passing through dailey, high winds 2 days, water temps 72-74 degrees. Weed line 12-14 feet, getting better. Big fish showing up on rock reefs. Medium size baits, bucktails and top water action. Last 5 fish were 46 - 47- 47 - 51 - 41.
Lake Trout: Fishing has been excellent 40-60 feet. 52 degrees at that level.
Trolling productive with Sutton Spoons or William White Fish lures. Jigging bigger fish 8-12 pounds with River 2 Sea Vibe work GREAT.
Largemouth Bass: Fantastic fishing with numbers and size on the weed line. Jig, worm or twister tails. 5 3/4 largest last week.
Walleye: Fishing has been excellent, even catching 30-40 fish in a morning from shore. Rock reefs producing in 12-17 feet of water. Jig and Gulp Minnows or Leeches working best.
Smallmouth Bass: Not may people fishing for them but a good bite going on shallow rocky shore lines. Jig + Beetle spins. It will get better.
Just finished up with a TV show "The New Fly Fisher" it will be on PBS. We saw 31 Muskies follow the fly, some aggressive, some not so. High winds 2 days, up and down weather. He caught 1 small fish but, you always need a star for the show. It just didn't happen. That's Muskie Fishing! but with a fly rod WOW!!! Catch it on PBS this Fall.
Until the next cast, Don Pursch
