Our weather this past week was decent.... a touch more rain then we needed and winds which blew further into the evening then we wanted... but nice enough for swimming and pleasant to be outdoors. Kakagi (Crow) Lake is mostly in the 68-72 degree water temperatures.

The younger ones (ages 2 - 15) had a great week of relaxing, swimming, tubing, berry picking, watching DVD's and enjoying friends and family. Most of them even found time to do a little fishing.

Northern Pike were generally rather slow biting on Jessie, Cedartree, Robinson, Lake of the Woods and Kakagi... very unusual for the Northern Pike to be slow across all the lakes, but they will be biting good again soon.

Bass fishing was slower then normal on Jessie with 35-40 fish per day.... but the sizes jumped greatly and included a 4 pound 13 ounce 19" smallie along with a 3 pound 12 ounce. Cedartree bass were slow but included a near 6 pound fish. The smaller bass on Kakagi were biting reasonably well for trolling. South Narrows and Robinson lakes were also slower then normal for bass action.

A few Crappie were biting for one group that tried for them on Big Pine.

Walleye were tough to find for some on Cedartree, while others did really well. Big and Little Pine lakes produced some decent Walleye action. It seems somewhat odd, but with groups fishing almost every lake up here... no one tried for Walleye on LOTW this past week.

Muskie action on Kakagi was tough at times... but a 44" early in the week and this past Friday was a great 3 muskie day - 41", 44" and 48" for one of our guests. So far the guests fishing LOTW for Muskies have not caught any... suspect that will change in the coming days.

Sometime this week nice Muskie and Bass pictures will be coming to Facebook as the guests send us or post those pictures.

Lake Trout were hard to fish most of this past week due to the winds and certainly not the same hot bite like we had the previous week... every group after the Lake Trout was able to find a few. No picture... but another Lake Trout was caught with a Muskie in pursuit, which makes for a great thrill.

Fish and fish story of the week was the incredible just under 25 pound (24 pound 12 oz) Lake Trout caught today by Dennis Votaw. Several pictures of the monster have been loaded to Facebook already. Congratulations Dennis! on the Lake Trout of a lifetime.

As a note... our Facebook page should not require a Facebook account or login to view and read the Facebook posts. We do encourage guests to make Facebook posts to share their pictures and storied in their own words.
