Some of you may already know that I am building a new cabin and will be making it available to sportsmen just like you. I wanted to target the working guys that want to get up north and away from the fancy resorts. Some of the guys I take out guiding tell me they're paying $2,000-$3,000 a week for their cabin!

My cabin will have a walk-out basement with 2 bedrooms, full bath, pool table, bar, and TV downstairs. Guests also can go upstairs and use a full kitchen, 2 more bedrooms, dining area and front porch.

I'll be posting pictures on my site starting in Sept. This week, we'll be installing the septic, backfilling the basement walls and begin framing the addition. Why pay more for a beach or stay in a tiny hotel room when you can rent this place out for $1,000/week during the summer and $500/week during the winter! Don't forget, I'll throw in a free giude trip while there's open water.

Call 507-460-0393 for details and to save your date!

The lake should be plenty high this year with all the snow/rain we've experienced. Last year was a record for early ice out and it made the walleye opener a difficult one for most of us. This year should be the exact opposite. There's a good chance we'll be able to hit the crappie bite along with a few walleyes.

We've been busy wiring the cabin, plumbing and installing kitchen cabinets. I apologize to those who hoped to use it during the opener but we simply ran out of time-and money! After three years of going backwards in the remodeling project, we're finally making noticable strides. I can't wait to actually be able to post pictures of a completed room.

One of the things I'm most pleased with is the 25 belly dumps of material I brought in from the mines. That stuff packs like asphalt and looks great. Hats off to Gary for trucking it in. Can't wait for ice out!
