Water temperatures continue to be in the mid-80's. As such, many muskie fisherman on the Madison chain have postponed their hunt as to preserve the muskies' livelihood until water temperatures cool off.

Lake Mendota perch reports have been coming in fairly regularly, however the one commonality in the reports has been small fish in the 7" or less range. Some big bluegills have still been reported on the deeper weedlines as well as on rocky areas in 20'-24' of water.

Lake Monona bluegill action continues to be good, with fish showing up in many areas on the lake. Some fisherman have found luck on the weedlines early in the morning and throwing bobbers over the weeds. The typical pattern this time of the year is drifting over deeper water for suspended fish. Success has been had in front of Olbrich Park from 25'-40' of water, south of the Yahara River, in front of Wyldehaven, and Olen Park in similar depths.

Lake Waubesa bluegill fisherman continue to struggle overall, however some occasional 9"+ have come in. Some pike action has been reported in shallow water areas.
