I Have a place on Kline Creek, the water in the creek is completely covered by the green algae. My brother in law has a place near the end of kline creek and it is so thick blue/green it smells bad enough that you would not want to be anywhere around his place. It smells by my place as well but it is tolerable depending on the wind direction
This is the second year that this condition has been so bad, in past years we had the green but not like now. We have been on Kline creek for over 15 years and never has it been so bad.
In past years I was able to catch all kind of fish off my dock, ths year "nothing" and the scary thing is that last week end I put minnows on a small jig about 4' down in the water, within 10 minutes they were dead.
We always had Blue gills aroung our dcck for the kids to catch, this year nothing
What is going on and is anyone trying to do something about it.
BP was able to clean up millions of barrels of oil in the gulf why can't the DNR clean up some discussing unhealthy algae. Do we have to wait untill someone gets sick or dies before something is done.
I realize that the opening to Kline creek is part of the problem, prevailing winds are out of the west so the wind blows the green off the lake into Kline creek and it can't get out.
