Went for a walk with my fishing pole and tackle box yesterday to do a little fishing. I first tried the little park area by the court house. Used a spinner bait for about half an hour and didnt even get a bite. Ive never had any bites or anything right there. So i decided to walk over right behind the delta county jail and try my luck there. Kept the spinner on for a few casts and got nothing. So i switched to my trusty rubber worm. Im from florida and rubber worms work wonders for bass. First cast with it and i hooked a nice 17-18 inch small mouth. Didnt measure it cause i knew it was definately big enough to keep. There are plenty of fish in the lake so i dont mind telling people where i catch fish at. I havent caught many smallmouths, we dont have them in florida so im more of a largemouth guy myself. So this was the biggest smallmouth i have caught. Got 2 nice fat fillets off him for dinner last night.
