The weather has cooled over the last few days, but the walleye fishing has remained very good. We are catching the eyes on bottom bouncers and jigs both tipped with leaches and crawlers. The fish have been in 20 to 26 ft. of water. Most boats have been getting 50 to 100 fish per day rangeing in size from 13 to 29 inches. Although the cooler temps of the last couple of days have slowed the bigger fish.
The bass have been coming of jigs and plastics, mostly tubes, in 20 to 25 feet of water. Some have been finding bass, usually smaller one, casting crankbaits in the shallow boulders. We have also been catching some nice bass jigging for the walleyes.
The northerns remain very slow. There have been a few caught by the muskie fisherman and a few coming on the bottom bouncers in 20 to 28 ft. Overall to target northerns has been very slow.
The muskie fishing has been off and on with the cooler temps. The water temp dropped 10 degrees in 2 days and the muskies shutdown for a couple of days but have rebounded very nicely last night and today. Micheal caught a 51 last night and Bob got a 51 3/4 today. Both fish were taken on bucktails.
The algae has been getting worse over the last few days but is not bad enough to be causing any big problems yet.
