We finally netted a fish over 45 the past 6 weeks. Not sure exactly why but 35 to 42 has been the norm the past 6 weeks or so. At first, I thought this fish was the brute we lost on July 22nd but no such luck. This fish inhaled a DC-10 and required the "head" treble being cut from her tongue. After keeping her in the water long enough for her blood (2 minutes or so) to clot, we snapped a quick photo and she swam away.

Remember, a fish cannot stop bleeding unless she remains in the water long enough for the clotting process to be completed.

BTW, I picked up a barometer watch last winter and finally got it calibrated for this area the other day. As soon as the barometer began dropping and the skies were getting darker, we hauled butt up to the area where my client lost that brute in July. (We had already hit this area several hours earlier and nothing to show for it.) 4 casts later, this one was in the net.
