Hi everyone,
Just a quick note here today. Was out for the afternoon in the high winds and didn't catch many walleye. just one small one all day. The blugill and bass were jumping into the boat like they've been doing all summer. I'm seeing more clouds of bait fish now than earlier this summer. When the forage is cropped down, the Walleye fishing will take an upturn.
i know that all the fish are eating well. They are all fat and sassy. Even the blugills. I'm catching them on 1/8th ounce jigs with large leeches! At least it's fun to catch them when the Walleyes are playing hard to catch.
Of interest, I had a blugiil by the boat and just as I was about to lift him out, a Musky smashed him. Blugill was happy to get into the boat! that's always fun when that happens. The musky was in the 40" range. I got a good look at him.
well I'm off again to see if I can nail down a pattern on these well fed Walleyes. Will report later.
