Fall is quickly arriving.
Surface water temperatures here have dropped from around 70 to around 63 degrees in the last ten days. Fishing always improves when fall approaches and the water cools. Water levels here are high for this late in the year.
Our guests are now landing Pike around 30 inches and Walleyes between 15 and 23 inches. Walleyes are being landed in 14 to 30 feet of water. Several Largemouth Bass at 14-16 inches were pulled out of the weeds and photographed this morning.
Perch fishing has been tremendous most of the summer. There are numerous places where anglers can anchor and land Perch, Rock Bass, Pike and Walleye in the same location using a hook/sinker/bobber or small jig and minnow combinations. Anglers should stay in a spot where Perch action is good, even after someone says "all we're catching is little ones." That same spot will eventually produce bigger Perch.
Crappies are a popular species for Fall Fishing enthusiasts. Crappie fishing is expected to continually get better between now and early October.
Can you get away for a few days?

And Remember that big Cabin # 11 is open all winter long for Ice Fishing or any other winter event. Cabin # 11 is ultra modern, 2048 square feet, has in-floor heat, eleven beds in five large bedrooms, plus three log futons. Dishwasher, washer and dryer, gas fireplace, 280+ TV channels and lots more. It may be the nicest cabin you've ever stayed in.
