Fall fishing patterns are setting up pretty good right now. Water temps have dropped into the 50's on many lakes. Pike and largemouth bass are still relating primarily to weeds this time of year. Some walleyes also make weedbeds their home especially on the shallower bodies of water. On the deeper lakes though walleye and smallmouth bass have moved to deeper rock structure for the most part.
I'm still catching a fair number of walleyes on crawlers but minnows are starting to be more productive. Soon minnows will be the only bait I carry.
I have heard reports of several muskies caught on suckers recently and the sucker bite will only get better as the water temps continue to drop.
