First Musky

When my brother and I headed out Friday we could not find a clean cast to save our lives. The river was up a little and fairly muddy with lots of surface weeds that the river washed down. We tried a few high confidence spots and had no action. It was getting pretty late and we were ready to leave when i spotted some open water in an area cluttered with weeds...... second cast i flipped my curly sue in a patch of open water and the musk came out of nowhere and t-boned my lure. a couple long minutes later she was in the net. It feels great to finally catch one after fishing all last fall and all summer this year without catching one.

Congrats man!! Great lookin fish. And just think of all the incredible rushes you have comin your way any time that bait gets crushed. We may not get fish in the net everytime we hit the water, but I can't think of any other fish I'm willing to dedicate that kind of time and energy to just for a shot. AWESOME!!

Congrats on your first musky. It's a great feeling I shared with my buddy Gary and his first fish a couple month ago. Same scenerio where he was casting to an open area in floating weeds. Where there's a will there is a way.
