I had John Rashke and his son Owen out yesterday and we caught a really nice 43 incher right off the bat. That was it for the morning. In the afternoon Owen had his turn on the sucker hookset and lets just say he was still learning. Sometimes you can describe how to set the hook and it just doesn't make sense until it happens. That was Owen's first hookset on a muskie. I wish we would have had some more action so he could get another try. For a second I was a little worried when the line was momentarily wrapped around Owen's neck and the fish was still on the line. Luckily no decapitation occurred. Hard to explain that one to the insurance guy.
It wasn't fast and furrious all day but a 43 incher in the boat is never a bad day.
Water temps were in the 53 to 55 degree range.
