Had brother in law Art from Lemont Illinois out for a good solid day yesterday.
Fished a smaller lake with water temps between 48-50 degrees. One nice sized fish did the "flash & dash" routine early in the day chasing an Undertaker. We spent the rest of the day practicing casting until just a bit after 4:00. I had a fish come off a shallow shelf and take a swipe at a Suick but didn't hook up. About 15 minutes later on the same type of structure Art hooked and landed a 30" musky. Within a couple minutes I had what I believe was a pretty nice fish grab the same Suick but got off before I had a chance to see it. Art got another hit and miss within a couple minutes after that and the bite was pretty much over. All told that window of activity lasted from about 4:15 until shortly after 5:00. No action on suckers all day.
