The winds FINALLY let up enough to get back on the water today. I decided to make a short trip out from the Escanaba harbor to try Lindy Rigging some retails along the breaklines. Marked good numbers of fish, but they were still pretty lethargic after all the weather. Finally picked up a couple nice smallmouth and a small pike near the coal docks in 22 to 30 FOW. Also lost a TOAD of a smallmouth right at the boat!
After all the wind, water temps are still in the 50 to 51 degree range around Escanaba. The water is really dirty, (only had about 2 feet of visibility in the harbor, and not much better in the lake.)
Talked to one boat that was coming in when I was going out. They had caught one walleye pulling cranks, and some friends of theirs caught four earlier in the day, (sorry, no more detail than that.)
