Water temps are in the upper 30's and very low 40's. The walleye bite is on... We are catching a lot of walleye and the sixe has been nice. We're getting a lot of 15 to 18 inch fish with a few that we released over 20 inches. We are getting the fish in 4 to 13 fow and catching them on jig and fatheads. I'm not sure why the fish are so shallow, usually we're looking for them in 20 to 30 fow right now. I'm thinking that it has something to do with all the water that is running thru the system right now. Crappie are also hitting well, we are getting them in 10 to 15 fow and close to the break. We are using small northland mimic minnow or 2" berkely power bait on small jigs. Looks like we should have a couple weeks of open water fishing left yet.
Good luck on the water...
