Still hoping for a good muskie before the end of the year.

The small muskies let you know you are doing something right.
The cold water will help your pike stop bleeding. And that is a nice sized pike. Good job!

Nice Northern!
I don't want to know your bait selection, but I am curious as to how big a bait you were using to catch that musky. I've had several follows this fall from musky about the same size on baits up to 10" long.
I often wondered if their eyes were bigger than their mouths.

Was throwing a 5" or so stick bait. Actually went down to try for a walleye or two for dinner. I have had a few smaller muskie follow 8" swimbaits this year.

I actually have had a lot of pike/muskie follow swimbaits but not hitting. Anyone have this happen a lot with swim baits? I fish them swim slow with the occasional jerk and speed changes.

Way to go Josh!! If you don't mind me asking, what time of day were you seeing your action? I saw quite a bit of action on Sunday between 11am and 1pm (after the time change). Just curious to see if the times were similar.

I fished from about 8-11. All the fish came around 10:00. I went back down from 4 till dark and didnt get anything.

The fish did seem very active in the morning. There were huge schools of panfish eating stuff off the surface all morning.
