Guys,

I might be set up for a float trip on the Juniata this weekend. Along with the flyrod, I'll be bringing the baitcaster also. I was just wondering if you guys had 5 or 6 baits that you wouldn't want to be without on a river at this time of year. I won't be bringing my regular tackle box, so I just want to have a handful of baits along with me. I appreciate any info/advice.

1. Big rubber
2. glide bait
3. Safty pin spinner, of corse a big one
4. Twitch bait
5. Tube
6. wildcard, bring a confidence bait

I did not give brands or specific lure because i know for me what work for the other guy in my boat might not work for me. So i would at least have 1 of each from my list if i were going on your trip.

I like to run more jointed lures when the water cools down creeping them along slowly.
Big rubber baits too.

Cool, thanks guys. It looks like the trip is on for tomorrow so I'm gonna do what I can to get my first "moving water" fish. I'll have to remember to bring the Toothy lure retriever for some of those deeper holes we'll be fishin!! This may be my last trip for the year, so I hope I can make it count.
