Franklin Charles ‘Frank’ Faust

GLADSTONE - Franklin Charles "Frank" Faust, 75, of 9366 24.25 Lane, Gladstone, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 16, 2010, at his residence following an illness with cancer.
Frank was born Jan. 16, 1935, in Wauwatosa, Wis., the son of Frank and Minnie (Hilgendorf) Faust. Frank was raised in Milwaukee where he attended school and worked for the Louis Allis Company for 19 years.
Frank was united in marriage to the former Janet Dahl on July 20, 1968, and they moved to Gladstone in 1972 where they raised their family. Together they owned and operated the Shorewood Motel for 21 years from 1987 to 2008. Frank had also worked for the Gladstone Manufacturing Corporation, Harnischfeger Corporation and Lakeside Machine Company.
Frank was a former member of the Gladstone Yacht Club and a member of the Great Lakes Sport Fishing Club.
His hobbies included hunting, ice fishing, cutting firewood and playing Cribbage.
In addition to his wife Jan, survivors include two sons, Gregory Faust of Gladstone, Brian (Melanie) Faust of Elroy, Wis.; daughter, Teri (Terry) Schmidt of Starr, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Lorretta Faust of Simpson, Ill.; two sisters, Jeanette Pergande of Greenfield, Wis., Doris Whitley of Bradenton, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Wanda Faust; grandchildren, Charles Schmidt, Christopher Bacsik, Hannah Faust, Tina, Jessica, Carla, Kelly, Anthony and Brandon; two great-grandchildren, Chase and Falon; numerous nieces and nephews; close friend, Steve Meyer; and special pal, Snickers.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Faust; brothers, Wilbert Westphal, Harold Westphal, Frederick Faust and LeRoy Faust; sister, Viola Lebuhn.
Frank's family will receive friends on Sunday, Nov. 21, from 2-4 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Franklin Charles Faust will follow at 4 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. William Rafuse of the Rapid River Congregational Church officiating. Luncheon will follow services at the Delta Pub in Gladstone.
