Has anyone been out lately?

Chautauqua is beginning to ice over and Kinzua is open and dropping by about 1.5 feet per day.

Went out yesterday from shore, i had just finished making a frew new baits. I wanted to see how they ran. Was only out for an hour or so, did have a good rip on a tube. Other than that no action.

I went out Friday (as usual), but was only able to fish limited areas due to the ice. Even though the water was at only slightly elevated levels, the "icebergs" funneled the water between them making the current very fast and barely fishable. I didn't expect that much ice or I would've used the opportunity to explore a new section of river.
I did manage to hook a lazy carp giving me a momentary shot of adrenaline

Except for the last couple days been out several times the week before. Water too stained and would have to bump them on the head for them to find it. We have had some hits though but they're being finicky with nothing in the net. Was after eyes and not esox. It has cleared a bit lately finally and thinking of heading out tomorrow. Tionesta outflow is projected to drop by 600 tuesday.

Been doing pretty good lately. Got these two one day and lost 2 others the same day. Lost a solid mid 40" fish the day before.

Those are some pretty fish! Very nice markings.
How did they do on the release?

They took right off. Water temp was in the 60's. Its at a warm water discharge.

That's cool.
I worry about taking them out of the warm water into the cold air for very long and what effect that has on them. There was a thread about that subject last winter, but I don't have the ability to search the old threads anymore.

Thats interesting cant say I ever thought about it. All fish I have caught there seemed fine when I released them whether it be musky or any other species.

How did you get it in there??

the small cove on the right side where the belt way used to go across the river, we drove back into it and at the back theres a bunch of massive rocks where water passes through between the river and the pond we were able to drive the boat over them.
