Hi everyone,
Got out for the afternoon, evening on both days this weekend. Saturday was the best day with numerous Perch and a decent Walleye. About three of the Perch were edible, but I released everything. On Sunday the action was considerably slower. Lots of lookers, but no takers. One flag, but was dropped after a short run. Was jigging with Raps and spoons tipped with Waxxies and had Sucker minnows on the tipups.
The slush was awfull. I fished the same lake, but in two different areas and the slush was terrible in both spots. It is a real popular lake but with the slush, there was no one else on the lake. Nice to have it all to yourself, but the slush prevented any kind of moving around. The ice thickness in one spot was 5" and in the other spot 7". We've had lots of cold weather, but the snow is insulating the ice.
Good luck to anyone going out and remember your shovel.
