Lake Mendota ice coverage has reached about 5"-9".
There have been some reports of active northern pike in the 24"-36" range. Governor's Island, North Shore Bay, Mendota County Park, and along the University Shore Line along James Madison Park to down near the Union seem to have the best results.
Walleye reports have been slow, with smaller fish being the standard thus far.
Perch fisherman continue to have some success off Governor's Island, Four Doors, and near the Commadore Bar.
Cherokee Marsh continues to produce mostly smaller bluegills with the occasional keeper.
Bluegill action in Monona Bay on Lake Monona has slowed, but remains the best bite on the Chain. Make sure to check Squaw Bay for occasional action as it seems to be yielding occasional worthwhile action. No consistent reports from perch fisherman have surfaced yet.
Upper Mud Lake has produced some nicer bluegills with the occasional northern.
Lake Waubesa perch and bluegill fisherman have reported slow action.
There has been little word of success coming from anglers in search of perch and bluegill on Lake Kegonsa.
