Made my first trip up to LBDN this winter last Friday morning. It was warm and wet - 42 degrees and water on the ice. I Pulled my portable amongst the group of shacks on the north end just a few hundred yards in front of the Yellow Gate at Days R. 8-9 FOW. 9:00 got first tip-up = 24" Eye (first Walleye on LBDN for me) next flag got broke off, felt large. Landed a few jubo perch and that was it. Came back out Sunday - cold and windy, shacks had blown around, a couple blown over...managed one jumbo Perch. Several full size vehicles out. Saw the post of the gal jigging - I jigged all day Friday and had several lookers and just a few takers (the 3 perch I caught) may have all been perch looking, what worked on the three was slowly raising away from them and the more aggressive ones chased it and bit, but no Eyes on the jig. Got back to the cabin and the dog got a treble hook in the lip and the toddler had a double ear infection - wife was not happy. Back in two weeks - alone.
