Good Perch Day

Fished the upper bay this morning in 30 FOW and caught 21 perch and 4 sublegal walleyes. Kept 14 perch between 9.5-12 inches. Best bait was a chartruese marmooska tipped with a wiggler. Wasn't expecting to catch perch, I was all set up for walleye when schools of perch started coming through around 9 am, so I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not picky though, I'll take what I can get. It was a great day on the ice.

Nice! One of these days--either in hard or soft water--I'm vowing to get into some nice perch like that on the bay...just dinks so far. But like Ahab I will continue to hunt the great white whale, er, perch!
