Due to the latest snowfall, travel across the lakes have been difficult. Those who have braved the weather on ATVs have been met with large amounts of slush and multiple inches of snow, causing resistance along the way.
Pike fishermen on Lake Mendota have been experiencing some success off Governor's Island as well as along the University Shoreline. There have been fishermen on the west side of the lake, be reports from there have been lacking. Perch fishermen have been limited in mobility and those who have ventured out have found limited action.
Lake Monona perch fishermen have been met with similar conditions on the ice but have found some action out from Law Park and east toward the Yahara River. Monona Bay has continued to be a struggle. Occasionally some nice catches have been reported.
Lake Waubesa's conditions have been no more forgiving than the rest of the chain. The bluegill and crappy bite has been moderately notable on the south side of the lake.
Reports from surrounding area lakes haven't been any better than the Chain. Once the weather breaks toward the middle and later parts of the month, action tends to get considerably better. We hope the same can be said this year and will keep you up to date on the action as we hear it reported.
