Hi All,
I have set my bachelor party destination for the infamous Warren. My brother, a couple buddies, and I are bringing a fishing raft and possibly a drift boat to float fish for muskies in the middle of June. None of us have ever fished the Allegheny but we have wanted to fish it for a while now. We are not looking for anyones honey holes but were wondering if anyone could help us out with a couple of good floats. Does the muskie water begin right at the base of the dam or do muskies start becoming more common farther downstream. We are probably going to fish 2 full days and float 8 miles each day. Thanks for your help.

Starting at the dam is a good idea, it's about 7-8 miles from there to the middle of warren and theres is alot of good musky water between. And from there down is some great musky fishing. I have no idea how well fishing from a drift boat will be as I've never used one myself ever. But you will cover some good water and have some shots at good fish. If you guys want some one to hook up with I'd be more than happy to hit the water with you.

Thank you for the help. We look forward to the trip. Fishing out of a raft or drift boat is a blast. If you ever get a chance i highly recommend it. They use drift boats a lot in WI to fish for ski's in the smaller rivers. The Allegheny looks like it is perfect for drift fishing.

The second day of your outing could start in Warren and travel to the Buckaloons campground access point. The next access point is a considerable distance from the Buckaloons and would add an extra 10-12 miles to your trip.
