Hi everyome,
Fished the afternoon and didn't catch a fish. Didn't mark any for the first 2 hours. When I did, I couldn't get them to hit. They were tight lipped as ever. It is very seldom that I see the bite that hard. Toward the evening, I had some hit, but didn't hook them. Had 1 flag on tip ups, but after pulling out 5 feet of line it was dropped.
I think the small lake I was fishing is suffering from low oxygen levels. It normally is a good ice fishing lake, so this is just something I have to deal with. I really hope the lake doesn't suffer from winter kill. With the high amount of snow all winter and the really thick ice coupled with the fact that the lake levels were about 3-4 feet low to begin with, that all could spell trouble for that lake.
I'll be on a different lake today. The last day of the game fish season in WI. Have to make it a good one. I'll report how I did when I get back.
