Not sure if any of you had heard about the shooting/stand-off yesterday involving 4 law enforcement officers and 1 lone gunman but all that occurred about 1 mile from my old neighborhood "holler".
The shooter (who was eventually shot and killed) was a former classmate of mine. Strange stuff.

Sorry Red, it is always tougher when things like this happen to someone you know.

There was a misidentification of who the shooter actually was. He was not a classmate of mine.

Still a bad event but a little weight must be lifted.

One of my HS wrestling teammates is a deputy sheriff down there. He (wearing plain clothes) and another deputy (in uniform) were dragging one of the fatally shot officers down a hillside when the shooter killed the uniformed officer and did not even shoot (or shoot at) my friend in plain clothes. The shooter was an expert marksman and could have easily taken him down as well.
Since the shooter was killed several minutes later, the truth will never be known.
