Looking forward to Nekoosa Walleyes days. Need help.
Is the ice out at Chester or Devils Elbow launches?
Any advice on walleye baits/presentations or depths/structures?
Thanks.

CL, I've heard some reports of fisherman fishing the river. Not sure how far down river they are.
Chester and Devils will be really low right now. Water level is 919.360 which means Petenwell is at its lowest point.
Jig & minnow, work your edges and establish what depth the fish are in. We've done good with pink and chart. green jigs.
Good luck

USE CAUTION...Water is LOW!! Today's water level is 919.467. Petenwell is at its allotted lowest level.
Here's the River readings:
Jan 1 - April 30 = 919 min.
May 1 - Dec 31 = 923 min
June 15 - March31 = 924 max
May 15 - June 14 = 925 max
925 is maximum water level
I talked with a friend who has been out. River is open down to Brown's Creek area. Water temp is 33-34 degrees. Fishing has been slow, but to be expected with temps.
Good Luck!
