After lengthy discussions with members of the military and DAV chapter presidents, we have decided to keep the outing much smaller than last year's plan. Liability insurance issues are the driving force behind the downsized approach this year.
There will be approximately 9 licensed guides from 3 states handling the "fishing end" of this event. We do need volunteers to help with cooking, food/beverage delivery and potential mobility issues regarding wounded servicemen.
Fred Forsythe (Castaway Charters) is the point man for this year's event and is a charter captain on Lake Erie. He already has connections with certain divisions of the military making logistical issues much smoother for everyone involved. The event is likely to be called "Wounded Warriors Benefit". The 1st annual event was held last year on Lake Erie in close association with U.S. Army 10th Mountain Brigade Light Infantry Division which is stationed at Camp Drum (NY).
This year's event is scheduled for July 16th (weather permitting) with the alternative day scheduled for the 17th, if necessary.

We will have more info posted here as the time draws closer.
