Suffix 832

After reading the very positive reviews on the new 832, I ordered and received it last week. It has a tighter weave and the implementation of GoreTex makes it one of the most water repellent braids on the market. According to the testing reviews, it really helps in reducing ice build-up and flies through the guides with much less friction. It is also suppose to be more durable than the original Suffix.

No water time with it yet. Just got is spooled on yesterday.

I have it on several reels, works great and especially so in sub freezing temps. I have never been able to use my penn reels in this type of weather but now can with this line.

Sounds like it does exactly what it is suppose to do. I just wish they would offer a 100# test version of it.

I finally had a chance to wet a line for the first time in 2011 with 2 friends yesterday and (as Todd stated earlier) it does not absorb nearly as much water as the other braids on the market. My hand usually gets soaked from all the water running off the reel but not yesterday. It also casted 'drier' with hardly any spray coming off the line.

This stuff is going to be much nicer to use in cold temps.

My buddy told me it sinks. He hasn't tried it yet, that's just what he heard. Any truth to that?

The first and only day I used it I was pulling blades so there was never any slack laying on the water.

I heard good things about the Suffix 832 also. So much, in fact, that I outfitted all my walleye spinning gear with 10lb, both my medium light rods/revo toro 60s with 30lb, and all my heavier rods/ambassadeurs with 50lb. So far I have nothing bad to say about it at all. Even seems to hold up better and repel water a little better than the tuff line xp it replaced. I would reccomend it to anyone

I agree. I have 1 rod rigged with 832 (80#) and the other rod has a different brand on it in 100# cuz Suffix does not have 100# in the 832. It is very easy to tell which rod I am using. The 832 keeps my hands very dry while the other brand is a constant drip. I have not noticed any color bleeding with the 832 like other guys have mentioned, however.

We have been flirting with a few frosty mornings around here this month and I cannot say enough about the 832. This stuff barely absorbs any water and I think it might even be a tad thinner in diameter than the "other" lines I have used before. Very impressive.
