April tip of the month

Hi everyone,

Just to inform everyone that I have posted my tip of the month for April. Go to my home page and click on the tip of the month tab. This month's tip deals with getting ready for the open water opener on May 7th.

At the rate "spring" is progressing, that tip might have been more appropriate for May !

Hi dfkiii,

I agree. We got 4" of snow yesterday. I've had taps on my trees for three weeks now and have only 5 gallons of sap to show for it. It's been to cold. We still have over a foot of snow in the yard and the woods. Ice fishers are still driving trucks on the ice.

I'm hoping that spring will come quickly when it decides to get here. At least I'm able to get some of the spring honey do list done. Once the sap starts to flow, I'll be busy. I have been getting my open water gear ready. When the ice melts off the lakes, I want to be ready.
