I was out yesterday doing some ice fishing on the Chip and the ice is pretty bad out there. I would think by early next week we will see some major changes in the amount of open water on the flowage. Most of the ice is chunked up pretty good(honeycombed) meaning it's not solid ice at all. That kind of ice melts into mush pretty fast. As a side note we did get our limit of crappie.

This weekend is going to put a hurt on the ice and it will be interesting to see how your ice-out competitors will start to wring their fingers and gnash their teeth as I think ice out will happen in a hurry accelerated by this weekend's very warm temps and rain.

Wow, the sister flowage (TTF) has 24" of ice. There were trucks still driving on it yesterday. I think that is still pushing it, no fish is worth it.
As for the contest, let's hope for the 17th, its the wifey's (Flambeau Fluffy) brithday.
