Here is a site that gives you the clearest picture of what is happening with the ACE lakes/rivers.

http://wmw.lrp.usace.army.mil/current/forecast.html

You will not be launching a V-bottomed boat on Tionesta anytime soon. That lake is 20+ feet above normal pool and the main launch is closed (flooded) and the other launch is under water as well.

I am able to launch my jet boat in the parking lot of the Nebraska bridge launch site. Yesterday, my truck almost had water around it cuz the lake rose about 2 feet during the day yesterday. I barely parked far enough up the road.

The river may be fishable depending on the discharge. Normal summer discharge rates are around 1000-1500 cfs. 18,880 makes things very tough for those unfamiliar with this section of river.

I fish out of 17ft tracker grizzly jon, i do not have a jet and figure the water levels should be up enough that i will be able to hit a few spots that i normally cant in the summer. The nebraska bridge pictures! WOW! thats amazing how much the water levels increased in a short period of time. Down side is this is the best time to be on the river for muskie, and it ha been almost impossible to fish this spring so far! I have fished arthur a dozen times, no luck although the water temps are starting to increase, so thats a plus!

You will certainly be able to run a prop boat in the river as it stands now. You just have to be very careful for the "neutrally buoyant log" that manages to rip the lower unit/skeg/transducer off your outboard.

It has happened before.

Good Luck

I hope the River or Con comes down soon. This native fishing is getting old quick! Hit the akeley swamp above the fish ladder and got some nice pike. Other then that it's been a terrible spring for the river. One good thing about that is they're not getting much pressure!!

I have had enough of the rain. It is time for things to shape up.

Wow.

The Corps of Engineers just decided to bring the Reservoir down to summer pool by May 20th, weather permitting. This means some high flows are coming..........starting Friday.

Look out below!

Onoville and Wolf Run Marinas are closed until further notice. When you see these pics, you will see why. Just scroll down the page:

The Res is dropping at just over 1 ft per day right now and outflows are bumping up slightly each day as the Southern US water levels begin to recede, presumably.

I guess the river isnt going to be fishable on thursday... was hoping to rent a canoe and float from Betts Park to Indian Waters

Not from a canoe unless you have your own "rower" to hold your position while you cast.

I'm not familiar with this stretch but have fished the high water in a "pooled" stretch on the middle Allegheny River by positioning myself in the start of the slack water and casting. If you paddle through the fast water till you hit a larger pool and take your time there. These areas may not exist in that stretch so do some homework before pulling the trigger.

Tionesta Lake - 5/7/11
This gives new meaning to "Fishing the Structure"

That looks like a sunken bridge in Forest County........just a guess, however. :)

The river has to be running above 16,000 or so to really eliminate most musky/pike areas. While some areas become tough to fish, other opportunities open up in these conditions.

You will be able to find areas to fish but you may have to get off the main channel to find them.

Good Luck!

4000 cfs for Kinzua outflow on Saturday. It is finally time to pound the river!

3-day outflow forecast is at 3300 cfs which translates to about 7-9 inches above normal summer levels.

The Conewango has cleaned up nicely but is still running a tad bit high so expect a little more flow South of Warren.

Reservoir and river levels are in the "normal summer" range.
