A friend and I stopped at Bay View to talk to Chris and pick up some 2" minnows and a couple dozen crawlers. Chris gave us some tips from the perch tournament and we did some prospecting starting at the Kipling launch. Poking around east and south from Kipling, we found both walleyes and perch. We kept five perch between ten and thirteen and one-half inches. Two inch minnows on slip float rigs in 31 feet of water was best. We also picked up seven walleyes between fourteen and twenty inches, which were released as we landed them. We missed more fish than we caught for some reason. Most likely because the boat was rocking and rolling in the wind, and we were fishing a couple rods apiece.
