Opening Week Update

Even with the changing weather, we managed to catch well over 300 crappies over about 4 days. We were throwing 10.5 inch crappy back and keeping some of the larger males - even threw 3 (15) inchers back. We caught fish anywhere from 1.5 fow to 8 fow water; emergent and submergent vegetation. We even fished off some deepwater bogs and caught fish at dusk. At one point, they were actually hitting our bobbers. All in all a great trip. It was nice to to throw back so many fish so others can enjoy in the future.

I take it you weren't fishing the Chip if you caught 15 inch crappie. I haven't heard of any over 12 1/2 inches caught on the Chip in years.
