We started out fishing walleye in the morning and they were a little tough. We only caught two good eating sized ones. We did catch a few pike with one being a pretty darn big one.
I had a different group in the evening and we caught some smallmouth right away and then switched to walleye right at sundown. We ended up catching six walleye with an 18 or 19 incher being the largest.
I had a great time with both groups. Makes my job that much more enjoyable.
By the way, I had Matt Poppe out yesterday evening. He caught his first walleye and first pike ever. They weren't giants but you have to start somewhere. Look for him to do some damage this season for the Wisconsin Badger Hockey team. Good luck Matt.
