A cooler week seems to have slowed down the warming of the lakes, Kakagi (Crow) Lake is in the low 50's and Stevens Bay on Lake of the Woods generally in the low 60's.

Many of the boats were after Northern Pike and they are catching bunches of them. Best I heard about was 38". One group with 2 boats arrived at the resort around 3PM, went out for late afternoon and evening and boated 57!

Walleye seem to be either good numbers of smaller fish or a few bigger Walleye with a couple in the 5-6 pound range this week. Stevens Bay, Miles Bay, Yellow Girl Bay on LOTW and Caliper Lake all seem to be productive.

Crappie are still being caught in Stevens Bay and Caliper Lake, starting to catch some females headed in for spawning. Several in the 14" range.

Lake Trout are biting a little on the slow side... the cold fronts seem to turn them off for most of a day, if you find them on a feed they are a lot of fun.

Bass - South Narrows was good, not yet on the spawning beds. Lake of the Woods bass seem to be biting and getting near the beds. Kakagi bass still have not moved up shallow yet (this is what the bass groups coming in a about 2 weeks wanted to hear :-) )

I'll be fishing a few days later in the week...think we will go play with some of those Northern Pike first.

Regards,
